Juice solids and puree texture need different tests A juice separator and a puree refiner solve different product problems.
Choose the product test first For juice, specify the desired cloud, suspended material and sediment behaviour. For puree, provide a retained reference sample and a measurable texture or particle criterion. Words such as smooth or natural can mean different things to different buyers.
Track the side stream A press leaves a fibre-rich residue; a separator removes another selected fraction. Pulping and refining also produce rejects, but their objective is a tissue-rich puree. Weigh and describe each stream instead of applying one recovery number to both product routes.
State the sample condition Viscosity and texture depend on temperature, composition and how the sample is tested. Record the measurement method and compare samples at equivalent conditions. A screen opening is an equipment detail, not a complete finished-product specification.
Bring to the project review Retained juice or puree reference Temperature and test method Screen or separator trial settings Product and reject stream weights Discuss these conditions ↗ Equipment affected by this decision Carrot juice extraction press Prepared root mash suitable for pressing → Extracted liquid and a fibre-rich press residue
Configuration and equipment drawing follow the confirmed process scope. Juice branch
Separate a liquid stream from prepared carrot tissue while maintaining a measurable side-stream balance.
In Prepared root mash suitable for pressing Out Extracted liquid and a fibre-rich press residue Juice solids separation / finishing Extracted liquid containing suspended solids → Juice with the specified solids profile and a reject stream
Configuration and equipment drawing follow the confirmed process scope. Juice branch
Adjust suspended material to the intended cloudy or more clarified juice specification.
In Extracted liquid containing suspended solids Out Juice with the specified solids profile and a reject stream Equipment presentation Puree branch
Break down prepared roots into a pumpable pulp while separating material unsuitable for the target product.
In Cut or conditioned roots suitable for pulping Out Pulp containing comminuted tissue plus a coarse reject stream Equipment presentation Puree branch
Bring puree texture toward the agreed sample or measurable specification.
In Carrot pulp with a defined fibre and particle distribution Out Refined puree and a controlled coarse fraction General process and safety references: sources and evidence . Operating conditions require the actual product and qualified process review.
