Keep raw intake, prepared feed and output distinct Compare equipment on the same measurement boundary before comparing nominal capacity.
Name the weighing point Raw-root intake includes material that may later leave as soil, rejects, peel or fibre. Prepared-feed rate describes a different stream, and finished-product output is different again. Every requested capacity needs a stream name and an hourly or batch time basis.
Build the balance from observations Record input, product, each removed stream and retained material over the same trial window. Added water or ingredients belong in the balance. Startup, shutdown and cleaning recovery need their own treatment rather than disappearing into a percentage.
Concentration changes the flow An evaporator removes water after extraction. Concentrate output cannot be compared directly with unconcentrated output. Soluble-solids readings and total solids are different measurements; use the appropriate measured basis and product composition for engineering calculations.
Bring to the project review Capacity and exact stream name Operating hours and cleaning window Measured material additions and removals Solids test and concentration target Discuss these conditions ↗ Equipment affected by this decision Root inspection conveyor Washed, separated roots → Accepted roots and an identifiable reject stream
Configuration and equipment drawing follow the confirmed process scope. Common preparation
Present product at a workable rate so operators or a specified inspection system can reject unsuitable material.
In Washed, separated roots Out Accepted roots and an identifiable reject stream Carrot juice extraction press Prepared root mash suitable for pressing → Extracted liquid and a fibre-rich press residue
Configuration and equipment drawing follow the confirmed process scope. Juice branch
Separate a liquid stream from prepared carrot tissue while maintaining a measurable side-stream balance.
In Prepared root mash suitable for pressing Out Extracted liquid and a fibre-rich press residue Equipment presentation Puree branch
Break down prepared roots into a pumpable pulp while separating material unsuitable for the target product.
In Cut or conditioned roots suitable for pulping Out Pulp containing comminuted tissue plus a coarse reject stream Optional concentration module Juice or puree with known solids and flow behaviour → Concentrated product and separated water vapour/condensate
Configuration and equipment drawing follow the confirmed process scope. Downstream option
Increase the agreed solids level after the base juice or puree route has been established.
In Juice or puree with known solids and flow behaviour Out Concentrated product and separated water vapour/condensate General process and safety references: sources and evidence . Operating conditions require the actual product and qualified process review.
