Shared equipment
Receiving, washing and inspection can often support more than one product route. The design still needs to account for the most demanding soil load, the intended inspection method and the range of carrot sizes. After size reduction, the routes diverge more sharply.
A flexible plant should show the valve logic, bypasses, intermediate storage, cleaning boundaries and changeover method. Otherwise, a claim of flexibility may describe a drawing rather than an operable production plan.
