Carrot Processing Line Capacity Prepare a comparable carrot line capacity enquiry using the correct weighing point, product route, operating time and measured mass balance.
Name the stream beside the capacity Raw-root intake, prepared feed and finished product are three different measurements. Soil, unsuitable roots, peel, fibre and other rejects can leave the process between them. Concentration removes additional water downstream. Put the stream name beside every hourly or batch rate so equipment proposals do not compare different parts of the process as though they were the same.
Allow for the operating pattern Describe available operating hours, lot changes, cleaning periods and upstream feed continuity. Buffer requirements depend on those conditions as well as the nominal rate. Establish whether the project needs continuous production, batch handling or a combination. Startup and shutdown material should be measured explicitly rather than silently counted as steady-state finished output.
Use trials to support the balance Compare root input, product output, side streams and retained material over the same period. Identify any ingredients or water added to the process and use the specified solids measurement for concentration calculations. The resulting balance supports equipment selection; it is more reliable than quoting a universal carrot yield without feed, preparation and product conditions.
