Size the washing duty around soil, not just roots Seasonal soil load changes washing water, foreign-material separation, drainage and downtime.
Describe the incoming lot Root intake in kilograms per hour is only one input. Record whether soil is dry, sandy or sticky, how much debris arrives with the roots and whether loads contain broken or unusually shaped material. A clean sample cannot represent the difficult part of the season.
Separate three tasks Washing releases soil; a specified destoner separates the foreign material it was designed for; inspection rejects unsuitable product or residual objects. The three operations have different acceptance criteria. A clean-looking root does not prove every foreign-body hazard is controlled.
Follow the removed material Provide a route for sediment, stones and rejected roots. Define screening, sludge removal, water replacement and cleaning access. An inaccessible collection point can become the practical bottleneck even when the product conveyor is fast enough.
Bring to the project review Incoming lot photos and representative soil sample Stone challenge and rejection criterion Make-up water and wastewater limits Access and time for sediment removal Discuss these conditions ↗ Equipment affected by this decision Equipment presentation Common preparation
Remove heavy soil through pre-washing, brush washing and a clean-water final rinse before inspection and cutting.
In Raw roots with soil and adhering debris Out Washed roots with accessible surfaces for inspection Stone separation module Root stream containing possible dense foreign material → Root stream after designed stone separation; separate rejects
Configuration and equipment drawing follow the confirmed process scope. Common preparation
Create a defined foreign-material removal point before cutting and extraction equipment.
In Root stream containing possible dense foreign material Out Root stream after designed stone separation; separate rejects Root inspection conveyor Washed, separated roots → Accepted roots and an identifiable reject stream
Configuration and equipment drawing follow the confirmed process scope. Common preparation
Present product at a workable rate so operators or a specified inspection system can reject unsuitable material.
In Washed, separated roots Out Accepted roots and an identifiable reject stream General process and safety references: sources and evidence . Operating conditions require the actual product and qualified process review.
