Product application

Carrot Fibre Side-Stream Handling

Plan carrot press residue and pulper rejects as separate side streams, with collection, weighing, hygienic boundaries and a defined next use.

Identify the stream before selecting handling

Press residue, pulper rejects, peel and inspection rejects are different materials. Record where the stream is generated and describe its moisture, particles and intended destination. A fibre-rich extraction side stream should not be labelled as finished carrot puree. Its next use needs its own product and acceptance specification.

Measure without hiding losses

Collect and weigh product and each side stream over the same trial period. Include any added water, retained material and startup or shutdown handling. This makes comparisons between pressing, pulping and preparation choices more useful. A proposed recovery percentage should be supported by representative trials and a clearly stated feed and product boundary.

Keep collection away from clean product

Specify bins, discharge access, drainage and the frequency of removal. Coordinate conveyors or other handling with the actual material rather than assuming every reject will flow freely. Recovery, reuse or disposal decisions must fit the hygiene and operating requirements of the receiving process. Side-stream arrangements should not obstruct equipment cleaning or normal maintenance.

Questions worth answering.

Clear product and equipment requirements make the next conversation useful.

Which equipment duties are relevant to this project?

Carrot juice extraction press; Carrot pulping machine; Puree refining and texture control; Cleaning and drain-down system. The final scope follows the product, trials and selected package.

What should I send with my enquiry?

Exact source of the side stream; Representative material and moisture; Collection and weighing method; Intended next use or disposal route; Hygiene separation and removal access. If a condition is undecided, describe the intended finished product.
